Tips For Bicycling With A Baby On Board |

| When you secure a little one onto your ride there are some
safety concerns that you want to be sure and address,
besides the obvious like everyone should wear a helmet. When you attach a carrier on your ride, you have some issues that need to be examined before you and your infant set off into the sunset. It is important to realize that having the added weight of a infant on your ride will effect where the center of gravity is. It’s important that you have a high quality, strong ride with a sound frame, at the very least; to insure both you and your infant will be safe. Abby Langford is the national examiner for a respected bicycle NGO working to help make sure that riders remain safe and sound and don’t forget some basic safety guidelines. “Make sure that you are a strong cyclist as the centre of gravity is higher and how your ride handles and responds may change,” said Abby Langford. “Make sure that when you start out, that you are paying attention, don’t reach around to grab something or get out something, that is often when the ride will tip over and can be dangerous,” said Abby Langford. Choose the route that you take with care, and try to avoid major roads as often they have a lot of confusion that make biking with a infant on board tricky and hazardous. “If you can take quieter side routes it is likely the better thing for you and for your infant,” said Abby Langford. |
